Social distancing helped by shed of umbrellas outside Arunachal bank

Aiding the West Siang district government in enforcing social distancing criteria, a physician in Arunachal Pradesh has helped set up a drop using garden umbrellas in front of a leading bank to ensure at least one-metre space between two persons.

Tired of making clients of the bank adhere to social distancing criteria, the district government asked people to develop ideas and Dr Jumge Padu, a frontline COVID-19 warrior, responded to the call.

The state is currently coronavirus-free using the swab samples of the only COVID-19 patient having yielded negative result twice.

Appreciating the initiative, West Siang deputy commissioner Swetika Sachan who visited the site said, “The drop won’t only assist in keeping social distancing but also offer relief to individuals from the scorching heat and rain.”

Volunteers of this Kibom Old Age Welfare Society track the people standing in the shed, and there are different entrance and exit points for female and male clients.
